PCRInet Issue
7
By now you've surely heard
the new about Paintball Consumer Guide Magazine (PCGM). We're working on
the first issue as we speak. It's going to be a great magazine and a great
first issue. The cover story is a review on the Bob Long Defiant and a very
interesting interview with Bob. That's just the start. There are 18 articles
scheduled to run in this full color high gloss magazine. For the record,
PCGM will not affect us publishing PCRInet so keep checking back here daily
for new stuff.
Rumors/news: Lots of
interesting stuff going around. As you may have read, the Great Western
Series will be going national in the five-man format in 2000. Also
look for Jim Lively and Sam Caldwell to produce a major series next year
as well. Rumor is that they are pitching the series to potential sponsors
right now.
We've also heard a strong rumor
that there will be a $300 to $350 electro-pneumatic semi-auto coming out
early next year--maybe even as early as February.
Team/Player rumors: Look
for Oh Pawlak to make his return to the NPPL circuit next season. Who will
Oh play for? Looks like Bob's Ironmen. Speaking of Bob's guys, they've lost
several key players lately including Weasel. Bob Long's Ironmen are currently
looking for a very fast "game breaker" type of player.

32 Degrees Rear Cocking
Kit for the Tippmann Model 98
32 Degrees Rear Cocking Kit
for the Tippmann Model 98
The Rear Cocking Kit for the
Tippmann Model 98 is manufactured by 32 Degrees and is distributed by National
Paintball Supply East of Mantua, New Jersey. The Rear Cocking Kit for the
Model 98 is designed to replace the cocking handle and rear plug on the stock
gun, with a knurled rear cocking handle and "beaver tail." The retail price
of the 32 Degrees rear cocking kit for the Model 98 is around $30.
Design/Construction:
With the exception of a stainless steel pin and plastic washer the entire
Rear Cocking Kit is manufactured from black anodized aluminum. The beaver
tail portion of the rear cocking kit is designed to prevent the user from
pushing on the cocking unit to try to get higher velocities during the game.
This is a well made product. One obvious question that comes to mind though
it, why wouldn't the design allow for removing the original handle?

Installation: Installing
the Rear Cocking Kit took us about fifteen minutes and all that is needed
is your original Model 98 allen wrench and some patience. The original directions
are clear and drawings are included to help you get through the process.
Performance: There's
not much you can say about the performance of this product because it is
not intended to improve your gun's performance.
Price:
At a retail price of around $30, the 32 Degrees Model 98
Rear Cocking Kit is priced at or near similar products for the Spyder and
other paintguns.

Conclusion:
If you just have to have a rear cocking kit on your Tippmann
Model 98, the 32 Degrees kit is probably as good as what is out there. What
would have made this one better would be the ability to remove the original
cocking handle, and possibly seal off the original cocking handle slot, keeping
dirt and debris out.
A nice feature of the unit is the built-in beaver
tail.
PCRI awards the 32 Degrees Tippmann Model 98 Rear Cocking
Kit our two star Seal of Quality.

Release:
Shocker EZ-Switch from
G-Force
Now Shocker owners can feel
confident about turning their markers on or off. Many players have gone on
the field with the marker off or batteries drained down after forgetting
to unplug the batteries from the day before. Until now custom installation
meant that you needed to send your Shocker to a local or distant airsmith
to have it retrofitted with a switch.
G-Force has released the best
product yet for Shocker owners around the world. This is a drop-in module
called the EZ-Switch with complete drilling templates that any do-it-yourselfers
can install the first time. It is still recommended that a qualified pro-shop
do the installation. Complete with detailed instructions and stainless steel
mounting hardware, the installation will look factory. This is a most welcomed
product to all owners of Shockers.
G-Force will be shipping two
versions of the EZ-Switch to satisfy Shocker owners. The first version will
be a switch only module. The second will contain a battery monitor driving
a red LED visible to the player from the rear of the gun. The LED will only
come on to indicate that the batteries are at a critical level and will need
replacement.
Call your local dealer or G-Force
at 905-477-1338 for the nearest dealer.
Thanks for reading.
