Hammer Plus
PCRI Product Evaluation
from the 1994 Special Edition DESCRIPTION:
The Hammer Plus
is manufactured from light-weight aluminum externally (receiver, barrel exterior,
sight rail, frame, and Power Feed), with both stainless steel and brass
internals. The Hammer Plus weighs 30-ounces and is 19-inches in length.
The pump handle and grip assibly are plastic. The pump handle screws are
slotted and knurled for easy rioval. The 'field-strip' screws are also slotted
and include rubber o-rings (flush mount) for a tighter fit. The Power Feed
(welded to receiver) incorporates a feed plug (see Automag) that acts
as a secondary safety device when turned to close-off the feed chamber.
ACCURACY
PROCEDURE: With
a securely bench-mounted gun, we fire 200+ rounds of paint (eight
brands) at four target distances. At 100 & 125 feet, the target size
is 22" x 22". At 75 & 50 feet, the target size is reduced to 8" x 11".
All accuracy testing is performed indoors at 60 - 80 degrees (f). The gun
is re-sighted at each target distance change. For this accuracy test we used
RP Scherer (original), Marballizer, Zap Advantage, Nelson Precision, Proball,
68 ultra, Stinger, Bullseye and Zap 'Classic' paint.
Below are the results

VELOCITY CONSISTENCY:
The Hammer Plus
held it's velocity within 10 feet per second using a regular (gas) C02 tank
(see chart this page).
MAINTENANCE OF
VELOCITY:
This test shows a gun's
ability to hold velocities during rapid fire situations.
1 shot 285 FPS
2 shots 288 FPS
3 shots 281 FPS
4 shots 289 FPS
5 shots 277 FPS
6 shots 281 FPS
10 shots 277 FPS
OBSERVATIONS:
The Hammer Plus
will give you excellent performance using a gas tank in warm weather, and
very good performance in the cold using a siphon tank. The short, smooth
pump stroke allows for a good rate of fire with average ball breakage. The
auto-trigger works well also. During slower firing almost no breakage occurs.
The adjustable bolt makes velocity alterations a breeze. The Power Feed systi
offers an additional safety, but does little else in performance areas.
At $159.00 retail, the
Hammer Plus from Kingmann International is an outstanding value, as a
