Renegade Knee/Shin Pads
The new Renegade knee/shin pads are manufactured by Renegade and distributed
by Smart Parts Inc., of Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The pads are available in
black at $29.95 (retail) or any one of six patterns for an additional $5.
By the time you read this, the Renegade knee/shin pads will be available
in 10+ patterns.
Design/Construction:
The one-piece knee/shin pads are manufactured from several materials including
a poly/cotton blend, spandex covered padding, and Velcro/elastic closures.
The pads contain no hard surfaces--all padding is 3/4" spandex-covered foam.
The foam is divided into sections that allow the user free movement during
use. There are three elastic straps that are attached on both sides. Slip
your foot through the three straps and use the fourth strap (top) to secure
the pad to your leg using the Velcro closures. The Renegade knee/shin pads
are extremely lightweight at only four ounces each.

Performance/Versatility:
The new Renegade knee/shin pads are made to be worn over your camos, and
cannot be worn under them. Unlike many of the other knee/shin pads, these
stay put when you're running around on the field. The weight and design of
the Renegade pads makes them comfortable to wear. We used the Renegade pads
while playing in the Charlottesville Indoor and found them to be comfortable
and protective. The thick foam padding absorbs most of the shock to the knees
and shins that you'll get playing Paintball every day.
Unless you have an extremely small foot, you'll need to remove your shoes
to put the pads on. It's difficult to slide the pads over your cleats, boots,
etc.

Although there is no specific warranty information included with the Renegade
knee/shin pads, Smart Parts, the products' distributor has a history of going
above and beyond for their customers. Smart Parts has been around for years,
and attends all of the major event trade shows.

Price:
At $29.95-$34.95 retail, the Renegade knee/shin pads are priced about the
same as most other knee-only pads.

Conclusion:
The new Renegade knee/shin pads are an excellent product from a safety
perspective, as well as in terms of value for your dollar.
If you don't use knee pads when you play, you should. It just might keep
you playing longer. These pads are worth a look.
